Mandible Vestige

Mandible Vestige is a piece for solo Bassoon and Electronics that explores themes found in post-mortem forensic dentistry, the identification of whole or fragmented bodies through the examination of dental artifacts.

Sonic artifacts are unearthed and examined as the piece unfolds with each bassoonist's unique interpretation, breath control, instrumental resonance, and embouchure evoking the decay, cavities, enamel, excisions, fractures, grafts and residue that further define dental formations used in identifications.
